A "Palestine conference" celebrating the anti-Israel "research" of the late Hebrew University "Post-Zionist" sociologist Baruch Kimmerling

The Palestine Center invites you to the 2007 Annual Conference
“The ‘Politicide’ of the Palestinian People”

Friday 2 November 2007
9a.m.- 4 p.m.

Palestinians will remember 2007 as a year replete with decades-old commemorations of chapters in their national liberation movement. In June, Palestinians marked 40 years of Israeli military occupation and five years since construction began on Israel’s separation wall, which, along with an elaborate colonization project, is destroying the prospects for an independent viable Palestinian state on the remaining 22 percent of historic Palestine. In May, Palestinians memorialized 59 years of
dispossession and exile and in September, Palestinians pay tribute to those exiled refugees and their descendants who were massacred in
Lebanon’s Sabra and Shatila camps 25 years ago. A 90 year-old British declaration of support for a Jewish homeland in Palestine, the Balfour Declaration, will be reflected on in November and the popular, non-violent uprising that captivated the world, the first Palestinian uprising or intifada, erupted 20 year ago this December.

The 2007 Palestine Center Annual Conference will examine these events and analyze their consequences and Israel’s policies in dealing with the Palestinians’ struggle for their existence. The conference is based on the work of Israeli sociologist Baruch Kimmerling. In his book, Politicide: Ariel Sharon’s War against the Palestinian People, (Verso, 2003), he defines “Politicide” as the “process that has, as its ultimate goal, the dissolution of Palestinians’ existence as a legitimate social, political and economic entity.”
