Reminder: Anna Lindh Foundation - Long-term Programmes
For whatever it may be of interest it is still noteworthy to recall
that the person after whom this fund is named was a vehement
anti-Israel senior politician in Europe. This was not at the time so
unusual but as a serving foreign minister and a likely candidate for
future prime-minister in Sweden (had she not been murdered in obscure
circumstances) she went as far as blaming Israel for "crimes against
humanity". That is the worst charge one can make and as far as I can
remember no other senior serving EU official ever did that. It
effectively puts Israel in the same category as the Nazis or other
genocide perpetrators. As I said, just a reminder.
